ARTIST STATEMENT

1967 | Mexico City, Mexico

From the ontology of feeling, as proposed by Ramón Pous, the meaning of art is healing and a sense of presence. Art is not reduced to an object of external validation, but is a sensory event that occurs in the body, in experience, and in the living relationship with the world.

Under this premise, the artist does not require institutional legitimacy to practice their art. Creation does not stem from academic certification or recognition granted by systems of cultural power, but from an inner need, from deep listening, and from an ethical responsibility to one's own feelings.

This decision is not a gesture of denial of thought, but a conscious act of distancing itself, which vindicates the experience, presence and healing dimension of art above its discursive or institutional validation.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

""It's not about expressing emotions, but about allowing form to emerge from a deep listening to the field.""

ONTOLOGY OF FEELING
Feeling is not understood as a subjective emotion, but as a primary ontological faculty; a form of knowledge prior to language.
RADICAL PRESENCE
Creation happens exclusively in the present moment. There is no prior design or pre-visualization. Presence is a technical condition.
ART AS A TECHNOLOGY OF CONSCIOUSNESS
The artwork is not an end in itself, but a device of presence. Art operates as a technology capable of activating processes of perception and reorganization.
