TIME & PERCEPTION
BIOGRAPHY
Carlos Génova (Mexico City, 1975) is a contemporary painter who lives and works in Mérida, Yucatán. His artistic practice has become a profound investigation into color, form, and matter, understood as fields of perceptual experience.
CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
""Painting does not illustrate time, it makes you feel it; it does not explain theories, it produces perceptual conditions.""
NON-LINEAR TIME
Time is understood as duration and lived experience, moving away from linear chronology. Through the superimposition of layers and rhythms, the work constructs a spiral temporality.
TIME WARP
This series functions as a synthesis of the artist's journey. The paintings construct an experiential structure where time expands and manifests itself as tangible matter.
CONCEPTUAL GLOSSARY
Force field
Canvas structure where color and form interact in a state of constant tension and dynamism.
Warp
Alteration of temporal consciousness produced by rhythmic and chromatic organization.
