BIOGRAPHY

Héctor Falcón is a Mexican visual artist whose practice lies at the intersection of painting, performance, installation, photography, and video. He studied at La Esmeralda and furthered his training in Japan, where he explored material processes in greater depth.

Falcón intervenes in the conditions under which something appears before our eyes. Through processes of subtraction, cutting, and dismantling of the support, he disrupts the usual way of seeing in order to open up an unstable aesthetic experience.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

""The work is not a closed object, but a perceptual field in tension.""

POLYSEMIC ELLIPSIS
A strategy of active omission where emptiness structures experience and generates tension. It allows for the coexistence of multiple readings without fixed hierarchies.
CONSTRUCTION BY SUBTRACTION
The work is not built by adding elements, but by removing them. Each cutting gesture eliminates a visual certainty to reveal previous layers.
RISK AND CONTROL
Constant tension exists between the precision of the gesture and the uncertainty of the material. The work is situated at a point of unstable equilibrium.
